Daniel Bounds

Daniel J. Bounds is the founder and Managing Partner of Bounds and Bounds, PLLC, where he leads the firm’s litigation, business advisory, and regulatory compliance practice. His diverse background spans military leadership, high-level business operations, and extensive legal experience—making him uniquely equipped to represent clients across a broad spectrum of matters, from complex litigation to corporate strategy.

Daniel began his professional career in the United States Marine Corps, serving as a Combat Engineer Officer and rising to the rank of Captain. His service in both active and reserve roles developed his expertise in leading teams, executing high-stakes operations, and making strategic decisions under pressure—skills that now directly inform his work in court and in the boardroom.

Prior to entering full-time legal practice, Daniel held leadership roles in the private sector, including as Operations Manager for LKQ Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, and as NATO Program Coordinator at Alion Science and Technology. These experiences gave him hands-on insight into operational management and cross-sector leadership—an advantage he brings to his business clients today.

While earning his law degree from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Daniel completed his final semesters at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School. During law school, he served in a wide range of legal positions that exposed him to litigation, regulatory work, and public defense. He clerked for the Honorable Jeffrey Parker in Virginia’s 20th Judicial Circuit, where he supported judicial research and trial preparation. At the personal injury firm of Turbitt, Leach & Crum, PLLC in Fairfax, he worked alongside trial attorneys in a fast-paced litigation practice. Daniel also held clerkship positions with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality and the East Baton Rouge Public Defender’s Office, gaining experience in environmental enforcement and criminal defense, respectively.

After law school, Daniel practiced as an Associate Attorney at Howard, Clark & Howard, PLC in Warrenton, Virginia, where he represented clients in criminal, civil, and domestic litigation. While gaining courtroom experience, he simultaneously developed a robust business law practice, advising clients on regulatory compliance, entity formation, and industry-specific strategies—particularly within Virginia’s emerging cannabis market.

In addition to leading the firm, Daniel currently serves as General Counsel to AgriTech LLC, a company at the intersection of agricultural innovation and technology, and to the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS), a global leader in cardiothoracic surgical advancement. His clients value his disciplined, pragmatic, and business-minded approach to problem-solving.

Outside the office, Daniel enjoys traveling with his wife, Susan, and is a lifelong fan of auto racing.
